    Those links already must have been either www or non www. Really Simple SSL will only change the URL from http to https, regardless of the prefix www. Possibly at some point in the past your site was on www, and later you changed it to non www (or the other way around). From then on, all internal links have ben created with the new URL.

    I think what happened is that the WordPress theme changed how it inserts links in posts a year or two ago.

    I know I never manually entered any link in my life without the “www” in there when it comes to blogs or sites I have worked on.

    Anyway, assuming that it is not a big deal having half https://www.mysite.com and half https://mysite.com, I will leave as is.
