Some image orders when opening gallery are messed up

Hello,
When opening the gallery for viewing product images, somehow opens not the first image (see screenshot). Also it shows more images then uploaded.
For example: some product should only have 6 images instead of the shown 10 and obviously start with the main image and not a random gallery image. (see screenshots)

This problem is not on all products however, if i were to guess i’d say it affects about half the products on the website.I’ve deactivated all plugins, and they are up-to-date unfortunately to no avail. However clearing cache works for some reason. So i’ve tried disabling cache but then the issue strangely persists. Also did a cache wipe but the problem returns.
I’ve also tried my theme’s support but it seems they are quite lost. Hopefully i’ve explained to problem sufficiently. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Also i’ve found that if you revisit the product it sometimes fixes the problem, but checking back at a later date the order and amount of images is incorrect again. Not sure what to make of that.

As a first step, could you please share a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”. Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.

I have a test site which has the latest versions of WordPress, WooCommerce and Storefront(default) theme, and I could not reproduce the same issue on my test site. So I believe your issue is coming specifically for your site.
I understand you’ve tried deactivating plugins, but can you try deactivating all plugins except for WooCommerce AND switch your theme to Storefront to narrow down where the issue is coming from?

Sorry for the late response, i haven’t been able to fix this issue. However i have been able to track down where it persists. I turned all plugins off, and it didn’t correct the issue. So next i’ve changed to theme to de default woocommerce one and lo and behold the images displayed correctly. So it has something to do with my “Porto” Theme.
Unfortunatly they i’ve tried their support but it seems they are unable/unwilling to help.
Any help or point in the right direction is greatly appreciated!

Sorry to hear that you found the cause but the developers won’t help you get it fixed.
You might be able to go through the code of the theme and see if you can spot where they add their own lightbox and remove it. Definitely make a backup before making any changes. It might be better to have the default lightbox than one that doesn’t work.
