• On the page linked below, on my M4 iPad Pro tablet, only the “Listen” dropdown menu works; dropdown menus for “Calendar”, “Study” and “Contact” do not. This issue started when I upgraded to WordPress 7.0.

On the tablet, I checked Safari, Vivaldi, Brave and Firefox and the issue appeared in each. (iOS 26, all browsers current)

The menus work fine in the latest versions of Safari, Vivaldi, Brave, Firefox, and Opera on macOS Tahoe 26.5.1.

    Theme is Twenty Twenty-Two.

    Troubleshooting:

    1. Updated all plugins (except for Table Press) and deleted some inactive plugins I don’t expect to need in the future
    2. Deleted all page caches using the plugin WP Optimize
    3. Disabled all plugins
    4. Deleted unused third-party themes

    None of this helped.

EDIT: Do not contact me through my website offering to help. I have received two solicitations in the last 10 minutes. Either post the solution here or move on.

  • Hi Bob

Unable to reproduce the problem but I did notice quite a few http:// links which you should update to https:// Some browsers can object to this and it might be related.

eg; Menu : ‘Home’ & ‘Subscribe to newsletter’, also on webpages that I looked at

@jim5471 Thanks. I will fix the links.

Please be more specific about not being able to reproduce the problem. Did you view the site on a tablet computer and find that the drop down menus worked? If so, which make and model tablet, OS, and browser?

    Please be more specific

Sorry.. should have been clearer… unable to reproduce the problem as I don’t have Apple devices. All checked with Windows devices/Firefox – no JS or network errors – all menus working OK.

@jim5471 Thanks! Good to know it’s working on Windows devices. Did your tests include a tablet?

Only the emulations provided in the FF tools. I was more interested in looking for coding errors. Should add that your menus work OK on Android with Via browser. The fact that it didn’t work with ‘up to date’ Safari, Vivaldi, Brave and Firefox browsers on your tablet is a puzzler.

I have looked for tickets and the only thing that looks to be in the same area is “Navigation Block Submenu Container Loses Opacity/Background”. If opacity was lost then you’d be clicking on the background rather than the menu – so no navigation. But then you’d be seeing the background and why only on some menu items. So not a good fit.
