# Some changes: Point widget thumb to gallery & Title of gallery as alttext

   I would like to keep two very important edits I had all the time before.
 * The first one is that I would like to **let a widget thumb point to the image’s
   corresponding gallery instead of opening the original image in a pop up**.
 * This was once possible following [these instructions](http://bellomio.de/nextgen-gallery-widget-hack/).
 * The second one is that I would like to use the **title of the gallery as the 
   alttext of the thumbnails**.
 * Also this was once possible following [these instructions](http://wordpress.org/support/topic/using-title-of-gallery-as-alttext-of-thumbnails?replies=2).
 * → How could I get this both changes to work again with the new version of NextGEN
   Gallery?!
 * Thanks in advance about a timely response!

   for your really great plugin, which I just want to improve a little bit to my
   needs. 😉

   set of instructions is more or less correct still although I would recommend 
   using a copy of the “captions” template as the base. The “gallery” template is
   more for example and generally not recommended to be used as is.
 * Basically create a custom template to show the details you want to use.
 * Now, since the NextGEN Widget essentially uses the NextGEN Basic Thumbnails display
   type you could also create a custom template for the first idea you have and 
   set it under Gallery > Gallery Settings > NextGEN Basic Thumbnails. The article
   you referred to is 4 years old and references the basic code from NextGEN Legacy
   versions.

   and mentioned before.
