• Hi everyone,
I recently upgraded from 2.1?? to 2.5.1 out of necessity. My self-hosted blog (Godaddy) crashed and I lost about a year’s worth of postings.

I’m naturally gun shy now about experimenting. I’m on a Mac 10.5.4 using Safari 3.12 and Firefox 3.0.

I seem to be having a hard time whenever I’m logged into the Admin panel. The GUI either slows to a crawl or doesn’t seem to save whenever I make an edit. It is very temperamental.

It appears to be more problematic with Safari than Firefox. I was wondering if fellow Mac users can advise on this.

If the consensus is to upgrade. I have a question. The support forum say to backup the .htaccess file but since it is hidden, how do I go about doing that?

I’ve successfully connected to the blog on my webserver via Cyberduck and downloaded the entire blog in preparation for upgrading. I’ve used the cpanel or the web GUI end to backup the database.

What else should I be aware of? Thanks for any advice.
