Some advice on design and question about categories.

Hi there,

I’ve been asked to create a website for a craft company who want to showcase products and information on the business. The site will not handle any e-commerce and simply needs to show the products and their relavant information.

I’m considering WordPress for this for the simple reason that the business owners can update the site themselves.

Am I right in thinking I could set up two categories say ‘products’ and ‘news’ and the client could then log into the WordPress UI on their site, add posts themselves and they would appear on the site within the layout?

Would this be the best way to do it, or could anyone suggest alternative ideas? I’m thinking of using posts for different projects displayed in one category, then a standard news feed with it’s own category.
