Support » Plugin: Adminimize » some admin bar groups not being deactivated

  • Resolved IT Hertz

After the update, the following admin bar groups are no longer being deactivated:

      About WordPress

They are not being deactivated in backend or frontend.
I even tried deleting the plugin and reinstalling the latest update, reconfiguring from scratch. No joy.

I have tested this as example with ‘comment awaiting moderation Group’; the admin bar item for comments. After saving the option and switch to another admin page, the item is done.

    Can you retrace this.
The admin bar feature have no changes in the source except the function to filter the array for different roles. The older version us better function, but is not usable in php 5.2 and get support tickets.

Thanks for other update, but same thing here. ‘About WordPress’ logo and link appear in Admin Bar Front end.

Sorry, but I am not following your instruction. Can you explain differently. A User Role I have set displays WordPress links. I do not want that to appear. Thanks.

same here. After the update it’s no more working properly.

“The admin bar feature have no changes in the source except the function to filter the array for different roles.”

Then something must be happening differently in the filter that wasn’t happening in the previous version.
All of the admin bar items are available in the plugin, but deactivation is not working with those that I specified in the OP.
My other settings seem to be working properly.

Please provide ma your settings for the admin bar. A screenshot helps, it is enough.
Have you the problems on back end or front end or maybe both.

Have you also the settings for me as screenshot?

Here’s an album of settings, front end and back end. Photobucket’s navigator is screwy, but I titled the images Adminimize-x for order clarity, and added descriptions for a few of them.

+1 on a multisite instalation. I went back to previous version.

Please can your test the current dev version, manuall install, overwrite this the file inc-setup/admin-bar-items.php or overwrite all files from this download –

    A feedback would really great.
In my tests in 3 different installs works really well, no problems.

    It works!!

N.B.: Overwriting only the admin-bar-items.php file produced a fatal error and all of my plugins were temporarily broken/inaccessible. I had to install it from scratch.

For those who want to try this new dev version and are not aware, you don’t need to deactivate/delete your current version. You can retain your database settings if you just delete the whole adminimize folder from your server then manually upload and install this dev master zip as a new plugin.

Thanks for the fix! Should I mark this resolved or wait for more testing and the final fix release?

@bueltge I would like to try that version. I dowonloaded the file. I am not expert, can you tell me exactly what to do?

Should I deactivate adminimize plugin? and add that ZIP file as a new plugin? Or what?

@it Hertz Which fatal error do you have after overwrite of this file?

On default should it works, not changes on the database entries. Really thanks for your test. I will release it in the next version. I will fix also the topic for the new function to prevent access of the pages, on Custom Post Types give it a topic.

@ico33 use the download link, all files in a zip. Copy the all files inside the folder Adminimize-master to your adminimize-folder in your plugin-directory, like wp-content/plugins/adminimize. After this, go to the back end of the install and check the plugin. A update of the settings should help to rewrite all options.

    @bueltge let’s see if I understood.

I open my adminimize folder, then create the folder adminimize-master inside of it and copy all files dowloaded from your link.

Then, in the backstage, in plugins I’ll found 2 plugins: adminimize and adminimize-master, and both should be activated.

    Is this correct?
