Support » Plugin: Blogger Importer Extended » [Solution] How to Successfully Migrate Blogger to

  • Hello Folks,

Many of you are struggling with the error while migrating the data from Blogger to Self Hosted WordPress using Blogger Importer Extended Plugin and it’s annoying.

Well it worked for me on 2 different WordPress version [tested] WordPress 4.2.10 & WordPress 4.5.3

The error is probably the compatibility issue & the Author is yet to update the same. But he clearly indicating the last compatible version. We want to migrate our Data than being finicky about updated/compatible Plugin, right!

    1. Install (Manually) the WordPress 4.2.10 (though it has worked for me with WordPress 4.5.3 but I may not advice this version)
    2. Install Blogger Importer Extended Plugin from the Dashboard
    3. Activate the Plugin & Run Importer from Tools – Import
    4. Connect it to Blogger & See the Magic.
    5. Within few minutes it will read all the Blogger Data & Import all those Posts, Pages, Comments, Images, Links etc. in 10mins
    6. Review the data once imported
    7. Update the WordPress to the Latest Version Now!

    Thank You,

I have came across many who are still unable to migrate the blog successfully.

You can connect at for further assistance.

thanks this worked for me after hours of trying other solutions! 🙂

I downgraded as directed, but now get the error “WordPress 4.6.1 is available! Please update now. Failed to connect to port 443: Connection timed out”

I assume it is this line in the client.php file on the plugin:

    const URL = ‘’;

@websydaisy can you please connect us at

It didn’t work for me, neither 4.2.10, nor 4.5.3.

When I try to import data, it says “The importer has stopped unexpectedly! But… don’t worry! It will restart automatically in xxx seconds.”

UPD. Actually after several failed attempts I managed to import data using WP version 4.2.10 and the latest version of this plugin (1.3).

I tried v1.3.1 Blogger Importer Extended for wordpress 4.7.3 with 292 posts, 37 comments, 737 images and 16 links with almost 2 hours time.

I did encountered the error message like “The importer has stopped unexpectedly! But…don’t worry! It will automatically in xxx seconds” many times until it saw “500 Internal Server Error” displayed until my website was unavailable for at least 15-30 minutes. I am glad with the patience and selected time to do the migration as early as 4am did have better traffic.

I did tried Blogger plug-in, it did not work on migrating the images and the post are without images. I am happy to use Blogger Importer Extended.
