    This has been discussed before but not everybody is keeping their plugin up to date or looking through the earlier threads on this forum, so I want to be more clear and “sticky” this.

    Update to the latest version of the Widget Importer & Exporter plugin to resolve this issue when uploading your .wie file. You can go to Dashboard > Updates to update the plugin.

    The latest versions of WordPress have a bug that causes uploads of various file types in all areas to fail on some systems. This is not an issue specific to Widget Importer & Exporter. It affects WordPress in general and will be fixed in a future update to WordPress. The latest version of this plugin includes a workaround for the issue.

    If you still experience this error message after updating the plugin, please open a new support thread. The issue may be different in your case.
