• Hello, all. I worked with a developer a couple of years past to design my blog with the request that the WordPress theme be easy to duplicate in an e-commerce design (since the blog serves as an adjunct addition to the shop). He suggested the Kubrick theme and I created/provided all graphics. The blog was built, and the sister shop has been live now since late 2007 as we try to move inexorably up search engine rankings (a recent SEO-focused overhaul of the shop should help). Anyway, I’d appreciate any advice and input – critical input is just as welcome as positive commentary. Personally, I find the blog design a bit “squared off” and dated, and I’m tryng to learn how to alter the sidebar color, since the content area seems to bleed together with the linked content on the left.

Anyway, hack it to pieces, with my blessing. Thanks in advance.

    John

    Wow…awkward. Apologies.

Just time for a quick look and main thing I would ask you to consider is less italics. In a digital world I just think they’re a bit harder for the eye to read and should be used judiciously for emphasis, not for whole paragraphs.

Other than that; maybe a bit of spacing for some of your lists in the right column; are you modifying the CSS at all?

I’ve just finished a new blog design as well; who knew the investment of time would equate to what it does..I’m sure you agree!

Mine’s at http://www.vinolucistyle.com – come to visit, leave with recipe!

The design is excellent. Very nice looking. One piece of constructive criticism: with the paginations at the bottom of the page, really no need for the “older entries” link. you can delete that out of the template.

also, it took me going to your contact page to figure out where in the world you were. (i guess the nice picture of the everglades should have given it away) Maybe an address in the footer or top of the sidebar would help.

Are the prints and gifts yours? I mean, is this primarily a blog that has an affiliate store to sell other people’s stuff or are you primarily a store and have a blog to drive traffic and act as a supplement? Just curious.

    Good work.
