Sofort payments followup(KLARNA)

    Hi there,

    Just a quick question, as i read that SOFORT payments are deprecated i was wondering if you will support KLARNA payments as it is the recommended followup according to the stripe documentation. In stripe i could simply enable the payment method, but the plugin doesn’t currently support it. Or am I missing something?

    Sofort payments followup(KLARNA)

    Indeed, Klarna purchased Sofort in 2014. In late 2023, Klarna started the process of retiring Sofort as a standalone payment method. Please see the timeline here for full details.

    Moving ahead, I’d recommend opting for Klarna Checkout.

    Thanks for the quick reply, in the Timeline you linked, it says that Klarna support is currently in closed BETA for the WooPayments plugin does that mean it will also come to this Plugin once tested and fully integrated?

    After all both solutions are handled by automattic….

    Thanks for referring the Klarna Checkout but I’m a bit hesitant to install another separate Payment Gateway – if there is no othee option, fine but as a dev i know thinks break and get tricky very fast once you combine more of the “same” things together… also i wouldn’t be to happy to test another gateway….

    Yes, the Klarna support is currently in closed BETA for the WooPayments plugin, just as the docs you’ve been following describe. Once the testing phase is completed and all potential issues are ironed out, it is indeed planned to be fully integrated into the WooPayments plugin.
