The pop-up gallery does have a social sharing dropdown at the top right corner.

To be honest, I haven’t paid too much attention to it because I haven’t really seen photographers needing it that much. I’m open to suggestions though – I’d like for the plugin to go in a direction where people need it to go, as long as there is a real use case for real photographers for a particular feature.

Oh, yes, I should have seen that myself. Perhaps you can make it a little more prominent or expand it to show the individual sharing buttons.

I think that that kind of sharing focus should be probably the job of a separate plugin. Social sharing is a bit tricky when it comes to design taste.

If a prominent share button is what you’re after – maybe try looking for a social sharing plugin that’s going to append social icons somewhere inside the single portfolio entry, instead of adding them in the popup lightbox. That way you’ll get prominent share buttons while keeping the gallery itself elegant.

Getting the share button is not a problem.
However, the problem is in the way facebook selects the image to display with the shared link – currently it offers the first image from the gallery, and not the actual one I want to share. the shared link, is correct and opens the right image, though ..

it may be something to do with the fact that facebook does not launch the javascript on the page when fetching the image(s) – isn’t it worth to just show the picture when javascript is not enabled?
