hi, i am using “Simple Social Icons” widget by Nathan Rice for adding some social button in the footer section.
the problem is that icons are not shown in my theme. everything is alright, the links are ok, the widget itself is shown but not the icons. other users seems to have no problem.

    thanks for this beautiful theme.

Greetings…if I understand correctly, you are using that plugin, and everything is fine, including the links of the social icons are there, but the “icon” for each one is not showing? Also, did you publish this widget to the Footer sidebar position?

yes, the “icon” for each one is not showing. and yes again, i did publish this widget to the footer sidebar position.

It sounds like this is related to that plugin then. You might want to post the issue to their plugin support forum.

However, before you do that, is it possible to get a link to your site and i can take a quick look?

By the way, thanks for the comment about my theme…it’s definitely been a popular one.

Thanks for the link! Also, very cool to see it being used as LTR layout.
Anyway, it appears the plugin uses the icomoon icon font, so this might be the issue. But this will definitely be related to the plugin. I’m thinking that the font icons are not compatible with the language used, but I could be wrong. Still, check with the developer of this plugin and see if they have a solution for you.

you’re right, the problem is from them. another guy is having this problem too.

what plugin do you suggest for me? i just want to add a simple gray social icon. that’s it.

and by the way, i translated your theme to persian (farsi), about 50% of it actually. where can i put the files for other people to use it? or should i give it to you to do it?

For the Morphology theme, it has it’s own built-in social icons that uses the Font Awesome icon set, so I’m not sure if you tried that yet?

You may have to use images instead of a font for social icons. Some social plugins use images, so you have that option as well.

Regarding translating the theme, this might help shed some light on how to submit that. You can also contact me from my site’s footer if you want to offer your translations (if and when you get it 100%). But for the Lite version here at .org, you can get info about that here:

There’s a link at the top for a translation Guideline.

i didn’t know about Awesome icon set. i will try that.

thank you so much for your help.

To get you started, and I’m not sure if you found the setup tutorials for this theme yet, but here is one:

Then the social networking menu creation, you can also refer to my basic theme setup one here:

hi, i did exactly what you said in the social networking creation tutorial. again, the problem was not showing the icons. i deactivated the font plugin (Use Any Font) and then it was solved.

i tried “Lightweight Social Icons” plugin by Thomas Usborne and it worked. everything is fine for now.
