Sociable Array php method fails

Notice the // commenting in each method. This is the only difference between these snippets. I want to display only certain of the services at the top of the page, and again list all enabled services at the bottom of the page as is the default.

However, using code (A):
Only the Sociable Tag Line appears in the post when I refresh it.

The services named in the Array are checked in Settings. I tried several different services. I got the names out of the php source. It doesn’t work even when the only service in the Array is “email”.

Automatic Mode is turned off in Settings. I tried it with it on, too.

Posts – Single Post Pages is checked in Settings>Locations.
