I’ve used this plugin for a lot of clients, its very powerful, but also a bit heavy on the server CPU and memory. And now that WP 3.6 has most social networks auto embedding, I would like to hear the users experience in aggregating feeds from Vimeo, Youtube, Soundcloud, and any other3rd party media networks that include the content link inside the RSS feeds. In a perfect world, all networks should include the rich content in a feed, in-turn, a useful plugin as this would make an excellent combo with the OG embedding included in WP 3.6… I will run some tests, but jut wanted to hit up the support for any user experiences with using RSS Multi Importer and getting the content to auto embed…
the latest version has the ability to embed (using an iframe) videos from youtube, vimeo and other video sites- which using the feed to post option…since the feeds are stored in the database, and not gathered in real time, I’d be interested if you notice high cpu, etc, and where that is happening (e.g., when the feeds are coming in and put into blog posts, as compared to when wordpress posts the blog posts to your site.
Also, one thing should be mentioned, while WP 33.6 does make auto embedding of videos easier, that only happens when you manually put in the video…the plugin does this programmatically, and that is a completely different issue as WP has security requirements (i.e., disallows various possible malicious tags) that has to be dealt with.
Hmm. Thank you for the info. Although, I do use caching, I’ve noticed somewhat high resource usage by RSS Multi Importer. But I really do like it a lot.
