• I’m shocked by how many annoying things I’ve found in this plugin. Usually, product issues come from technical challenges. Depicter’s problems are due to choices made by the developer because it would not have been a higher technical hurdle to make the product better. When images are layered on top of each other, having to use drag-and-drop to swap out an image is a ridiculous ux choice. You’re trying to change 1 image, but it keeps dropping into another image in the stack. It’s such a stupid annoyance that could be solved by letting the user swap the image using the right click menu. I can’t even fathom why there is not a swap image function on the right click menu. That’s like the most basic thing that any ux person would know to implement. There are other issues but I don’t feel like typing a full analysis of the product deficiencies.

The fact that they find the time to write a plethora of seo articles but can’t be bothered to create actual support docs seems like a continuation of a pattern of choosing to not be excellent.

    – edit –

I’ve found yet another problem. There’s no drag & select functionality. When editing a slide, if you want to move or resize a group of elements, you can’t click&drag to select multiple elements at once (as with any proper design interface) rather than clicking one-by-one. Do you know how long that takes when there are 20+ elements and every time you need to do something with then collectively, you have to go through the process of clicking to select each one-by-one?
