Snowball is causing error messages during applying updates of the “Jetpack”

    Hi Thomas,

    when updating the Jetpack-Plugin, since installing the Snowball plugin, the update process causes these error messages:

    I also wrote to Jetpack support and they told me this:

    As for Snowball, you mean that the Publicize metabox doesn’t appear on the post edit screen, correct? That plugin isn’t marked as being compatible with the current version of WordPress, and the last release was 5 months ago; it appears that it may be abandoned. I suggest you open up an issue with the plugin author here:

    If you get any response or feedback from the plugin author(s), then maybe we can do something to increase compatibility, but to be honest, this sounds more like a problem with that plugin rather than with Jetpack.

    PS: I found the result of the warning messages: Jetpack’s social posting sharing functionality is the only “plugin” that doesn’t appear in the snowball article writing interface. Maybe you can fix that so it is compatible with Snowball? As a workaround (and because Jetpack doesn’t allow post sharing to instagram) we use the plugin “Blog2Social” in its free edition.

    We determined that the warning messages were unrelated to Snowball (the Adsns::$option_name property in the errors suggest an AdSense plugin), but we have added the Jetpack publicize feature to Snowball articles in 0.4.14 based on this report.
