 * I believe there may be a compatibility issue with Snippy and the new gutenberg
   editor. Does anyone know if this has been flagged? In doing some digging, I found
   that snippy is appearing before the DOCTYPE tag on the html – here is the start
   of the source code:
 *  <div id=”snippy–mce-shortcode-popup” style=”display:none;”>
    - [consultingbuttons](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/snippy-errors-with-gutenberg/?output_format=md#)
    - [slack](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/snippy-errors-with-gutenberg/?output_format=md#)
    - [podcast](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/snippy-errors-with-gutenberg/?output_format=md#)
 *  </div>
 *  <!DOCTYPE html>
    <!–[if IE 8]>
 * Over on github there appears to be a number of plugins that are appearing before
   the DOCTYPE tag and forcing the metaboxes (Yoast, likes, etc…) to block the “
   blocks” in the gutenberg editor.
 * It works if I deactivate the plugin, but I would love to keep using this plugin
   instead of moving to a different one
 * The page I need help with: _[[log in](https://login.wordpress.org/?redirect_to=https%3A%2F%2Fwordpress.org%2Fsupport%2Ftopic%2Fsnippy-errors-with-gutenberg%2F%3Foutput_format%3Dmd&locale=en_US)
   to see the link]_

 * Hi! This is weird, I’ve tested it before claiming the plugin was compatible but
   didn’t find anything wrong then.
 * I’ll retest and see if I can find something.

 * I haven’t been able to reproduce this.
 * Can you give me some more information? Does this happen with all Snippy shortcodes?
   If you create a very simple shortcode (just text) does it show the same problem?
   Have you updated to the latest version? What version of WordPress are you running
   currently?

 * Someone said: “But I would encourage you to reach out the developer of the Snippy
   plugin and ask them to fix so the content isn’t output before the doctype.”
 * Its a general problem on any draft post page – the code is not loading correcntly

 * Do you have an example of the code the shortcode is generating?

 * its not a problem of the shortcode – on the gutenberg editor, the snippy code
   is appearing before the doctype – I am not sure what that means just passing
   along the message

 * I understand I’m simply trying to solve the issue.
 * I’ve tested by adding a shortcode to the page using the “Most Used/Shortcode”
   block. The shortcode appears at the correct location on the page and nothing
   is rendered before the doctype. So, I can’t reproduce the issue on my test project.

 * I’ve reproduced the issue on my test environment. Will probably release a new
   version of Snippy in a couple hours. Thanks for reporting this problem.
