Usually we edit the “Yoast Snippet preview” for the page which we have set as front page to change the text which shows up when someone does a search on Google.

But now it doesn’t work and the text we have setup in the “Yoast Snippet preview” is not showing on Google results. It still is the default text in the Google results.

Please have a look at these screenshots.

This screenshot shows what we have written in the WordPress admin in the “Yoast Snippet preview” on the front page.

This screenshot shows how it looks in the Google results.

We changed this maybe 4 months ago and it still hasen’t changed.

Thanks a lot in advance for any help!

    Kind regards, Christoffer

  • Hi Christoffer,

If you were to use Fetch as GoogleBot (may need to use it a couple times) on that link does the right meta description then appear? This guide explains more:https://kb.yoast.com/kb/fetch-as-googlebot/

You searched for a specific search term (most likely caskmoestue or caskmoestue.se) which means Google scans the index for that exact phrase. Google uses the search term to highlight information in search results which is why the information is different than what you entered into the plugin.

To see the meta title and description without search term manipulation, use the site search operator followed immediately by the URL of your site. When using this search, the title and description matches what was entered in Yoast SEO.

    site:caskmoestue.se

i also have same problem & i contacted yoast seo plugin author but they replayed like this.

    Hi Sanjay,

Thanks for the email! We are not sure if the Yoast SEO Premium will resolve the issue you are experiencing. We do know that the premium plugin is a different one than the free Yoast. We also know that purchasing the premium plugin entitles you to this helpdesk here for Yoast SEO Premium users. We would then troubleshoot the issue. If we are unable to resolve the issue we offer a 30 day refund. You can learn more about it here: What is your refund policy?.

If you decide not to purchase the plugin we ask that you please make a post in the Yoast SEO WordPress forums. You may need an account to post. The forums are monitored by our staff as well. That is the best place to get the fastest and most accurate response to your issue, should you decide not to purchase the Yoast SEO Premium plugin.

Yoast seo plugin author if you are not giving it free then please remove your plugin from wordpress plugin directory. always your executive saying buy premium plugin for support. we don’t want support we are just reporting that free plugin not working well.. if free plugin are not usable then what we can do with this plugin?
