Hey all – my Yoast snippets on a custom post type page are appearing correctly, however when I check the source code of the page itself I get the following in lieu of a meta description tag:

<!– Admin only notice: this page doesn't show a meta description because it doesn't have one, either write it for this page specifically or go into the SEO -> Search Appearance menu and set up a template. –>

Any reason why this may be? I’ve tried disabling plugins, still get this. The snippet previews correctly on the post’s edit page but nothing comes up in the source code.

    Hi Darin,

If the snippet preview shows correctly, but none of the tags generated by Yoast SEO can be found in the page’s source, then it’s likely that your custom post’s template does not include the wp_head() hook. Is this the case?
