Hi @zurdor33,
That’s odd behaviour. There aren’t any such action that would be causing within the Smush plugin to cause such anomalies, nor we have got any such reports recently.
Sounds like it might be due to server cache. Do you have Object cache enabled in the server-side? If yes, maybe it might be causing such issues?
Could you please double-check with your hosting provider if there are any such cache enabled? If yes, clearing the cache should resolve any such anomalies.
If you still think it’s something specific within the Smush plugin side, please do let us know whether there are any steps to replicate the issue and whether you are able to replicate the issue in other websites too.
Looking forward to your response.
Kind Regards,
Nithin
I don’t have any enabled cache. In fact, a few months ago I disabled Apache PageSpeed. The website is it in a t2 instance of AWS.
## Steps to replicate
1. I deactivate the plugin
2. And later I deleted the plugins.
3. 20 minutes (more or less) later the plugin self-installs.
The third time lucky. : I managed to uninstall the plugin. I don’t know what happened, but I managed to uninstall the plugin.
Hi @zurdor33
I hope you’re well today!
This is, indeed, very strange but I’d tend to stick to the thought that it was, after all, “cache related”. I’m not much familiar with AWS but I wouldn’t be surprised if there was some “stubborn” low-level caching involved or e.g. it was related to load balancing or even backup being automatically restored in the background. It’s just a speculation as I actually never came across such issue before but I wouldn’t rule that out.
Anyway, I’m glad to hear that you managed to uninstall it, I think it should be fine now but in case you’d experience similar issue again, please let us know and we’ll assist you further.
Kind regards,
Adam
