    Hi there,

I know this topic has come up quite often and I’ve read many of them. Still figuring my case out.

So, my WP network is located on my server, and I am using ‘Other SMTP’ to send Mails via “united domains”. The login credentials are working when I enter them at the webmailer login interface from united domains, but they do not work with the plugin. 🙁

In another post I read that the location of web host und mail host is irrellevant, as long as I fill in the right info, so what’s the problem?

Here is the error code with nice tofu at the end – don’t know why.

(Again, yes, the tofu is what I am getting in the error log)

Thank you so much in advance

Follow-up question: do I have to edit the MX record at united domains in any way?

    Best regards

    Hi @siinex,

This error can be due to several factors even when correct SMTP settings and correct authentication provided. This might be an issue with your server such as presenting invalid certificates, or your ISP is transparently redirecting your SMTP traffic to a different server or other security restrictions in the server to pinpoint the issue. Please contact your site hosting provider support to see if anything is blocking the connection.

    I hope this helps!

    Hi @sanzeeb3 ,

    thanks for replying.

So, it turns out, that it is a SSL related problem on my server.

I was given a temporary solution where the verification of the peer will be disabled.

The next step is to get on the server administrative level to get to the root of the problem. I’ll update this problem if I can solve the matter.

    Best regards
    Tim

    Hi @siinex,

Glad to know you figure out the issue. For a temporary solution, instead of modifying any plugin files directly as directed in the link you pointed, please add this custom codeinstead.

In case it helps, here’s tutorial on where and how to add custom codes like that: http://www.wpbeginner.com/plugins/how-to-easily-add-custom-code-in-wordpress-without-breaking-your-site/

    I hope this helps!
