# SMTP Authentication for registration

 * I recently setup a new install of WordPress and found out that when users were
   registering, they were getting their registration email. So I changed the php
   settings (php.ini) to point to my ISP’s smtp server. But to reduce spam, like
   many other ISPs/servers, my ISP’s smtp server requires me to be authenticated
   in order to send mail.
 * Where can I put in my username and password for sending mail through my ISP’s
   server for use in WordPress?

 * Since there seems to be no response forthcoming from that page, I figured I’d
   ask here. I can’t seem to get that plugin working. Apache error logs show “Class‘
   PHPMailer’ not found in […]/wp-phpmailer.php on line 113”. If anyone can provide
   some insight, it would be greatly appreciated.

 * What about WP that runs on a WinXP machine, where only http is hosted, and email
   is hosted somewhere else?
