Smiley at the bottom after upgrade to 2.2

  • After upgrading to WordPress 2.2 on two of my blogs, I noticed that there is a little smiley face right at the bottom of the blogs.

On this blog, a white space is added at the footer and the smiley is at the center.

On this blog, the smiley is on the left.

Anyone knows why and how I can get rid of them? Or at least where I can realign it?

  • what’s wrong with a smile? 🙂

that is probably placed there from the Automattic Stats plugin (aka BlogStats, aka WordPress.Com Stats Plugin). Find the README of that plugin, it gives you CSS to hide the smiley.

    Hey Dgold,

Thanks for pointing out! I got it figured out thanks to your advice.

I looked at the readme for the stats plugin and it says under hiding the smiley:

“Can I hide the smiley? =

Sure, just don’t use display:none, try this code:

The thing is, the installation instructions don’t include any references to clarify where ‘display: none’ is located. Is this in the header template? The CSS for the header and footer? Where does one insert/replace this code????

    I figured it out…

I added the line of code:

To the end of my stylesheet and it cancelled out the smiley.

this is actually doesn’t remove it all the way.
at the very bottom I still have that smile if I’m trying to print out the page.
Does any one know how to get rid of it?
    thank u.
