Support » Plugin: TinyPNG - JPEG, PNG & WebP image compression » Smartphone images corrupt after image optimization

    Hi there,

After running the TinyPNG image optimization, the page doesn’t display images correctly anymore (problem occurs on mobile / smartphone view only). I used the standard settings in the WP plugin.

It looks like cropped or square thumbnail images are now being used on mobile view – and they are in very poor quality. Desktop view is all good.

Any idea on solving this problem?

    Thanks,
    Daniel

    Hi daniwish,

I am sorry to hear that you are having problem with the plugin!

Could you please provide some examples of the images not compressing correctly? I checked your site but unfortunately I couldn’t locate those images.

The only thing the plugin does is to compress the images. It doesn’t change any other settings and will not change what image is being used, which is why we think there might be something else causing this problem.

Hope to hear from you soon!

    Hi!

Many thanks for the quick reply. You’re right. It looks like there’s a bug with the CSS parallax effect on mobiles (background-attachment: fixed). Need to solve this.

It obviously has nothing to do with the TinyPNG optimization, but somehow occured the same time.

So consider this topic as solved.

    Thanks!
