Hi @goldtechgimmer65,
Thanks for reaching out, and I’m sorry to hear about the issue with the Reply-To setting in your notifications.
To fix this, please ensure you’re using the latest version of WPForms Lite because a bug related to the Reply-To field was resolved in WPForms 1.8.9.2, as you can see in the changelog (screenshot).
If you are already using the latest version of WPForms Lite, please check if there is no space after the smart tag in the Reply-To field. We had some cases where a space after the smart tag broke the smart tag and caused the administration email address to appear in the reply-to field of notifications.
I hope this helps!
Hi, Thanks for the reply. I’m still having the problem with no space behind the smart tag on many sites, and I’m on the latest versions for both WP forms and WP mail SMTP.
I’m going to run some tests on Brevo instead of SMTP2GO to see if it does the same thing. It’s probably not related to SMTP2GO , but I’ll try to narrow it down before I request help again.
Thanks again.
Further to the Smart Tag issue (reply to contact form sender). I can confirm that this only happens with SMTP2GO. I’ve tested two sites with SMTP2GO and two sites with Brevo. Brevo replies to the sender field correctly and SMTP2GO will only reply to the domain (essentially replying to itself). Is there a setting within SMTP2GO’s site that we should be aware of when setting up the form? Hope you can help or clarify.
Hi @goldtecgimmer65,
Thanks for letting me know!
Since SMTP2GO is a third-party plugin, we’re unable to provide direct support for it.
In this case, you could open a topic in the SMTP2GO support forum for more specialized assistance.
Alternatively, if it helps, we have an article with a list of recommended SMTP options and links to their setup tutorials. You could give one of those options a try, and check if the issue continues with your notifications.
I hope this helps!
Hi, you seem to be assuming I’m using the SMTP2GO SMTP plugin, when in fact this error is happening with your WPMail SMTP plugin. SMTP2GO is listed within the WPMail SMTP plugin as an option to install. I’m informing you that there is a glitch, and it’s not using the reply to smart tag on the email field. As a further test, I have installed SMTP2GO’s own plugin and deactivated the WPMail SMTP plugin. I can confirm that the reply to smart tag and the reply to email field now work correctly on WP forms with SMTP2GO’s own plugin. Clearly there is a glitch, as all of the settings in WPforms remain exactly the same.
Hi @goldtecgimmer65,
Thank you for providing the details!
I was able to replicate the issue where the Reply-To field is missing when using WP Mail SMTP with the SMTP2GO mailer.
I’ve reached out to the WP Mail SMTP team about this, and they are actively working on a fix that should be included in an upcoming release.
You can keep an eye on the WP Mail SMTP Lite changelog to see when this issue has been resolved.
If you need any help with WPForms Lite or have any other questions, feel welcome to let me know. I’m here to help!
Thanks!
Thanks for the update and support, it’s much appreciated.
