Smaller margins

  • Hi, I’m spanish and I made the translation google translator.

I’m customizing the theme and can not find where it spun modify the margin is in the next post 1 sample, exactly where it says: “Bienvenido a WordPress. Esta es tu primera entrada. Edítala o bórrala, ¡y comienza a publicar!.”.
I would like the left margin was smaller. I modified the style.css margin property in several places but it does not work.
    Can you help?

    Thank you. A greeting.

Hi! The content in Spun is centered on the screen by default. You’d need to modify the #primary and/or #page margins, changing them from auto to a fixed width value, which would align them to the left and reduce the left margin. If you wanted to keep the content centered but make the content area wider, you would experiment with the width value on the same selectors.

I recommend using Firebug or a similar browser addon for CSS problems like this. You can right-click or Ctrl+click and “Inspect” the source to find the class(es) and properties to change.

And as always, I advise doing this in a child theme or Custom CSS plugin (like Jetpack) so your changes don’t get overwritten by future theme updates.

    Good luck!
