So I’m not sure how to fix the HTML markup errors on the page. I’m super super new to all of this and my HTML skills were last honed in the days of Myspace when I made my custom profile. ha ha.
I’ve looked through the settings in the portfolio page and they are the same as the other portfolios that I’ve set up. I haven’t touched any coding specific to these pages so I’m not sure where to go next with this.
Can you create a new blank page with just one image on it?
please check this portfolio page i have seen your all portfolio page is working very well. so please check at least one image add on this page.
Pioneer, I’ve created a Portfolio Page that has one image in it in the same data set (slide manager set) and the same gallery format (stage) as the problem portfolio page: http://www.laurencrestillustration.com/portfolio/blank-test/
and a single blank portfolio page with a image added into the text section (since I wasn’t sure that the first link was what you were looking for):http://www.laurencrestillustration.com/portfolio/blank-test-2/
Since I’ve been able to successfully post blog posts without problem and to post the blank page without a problem I decided to try to make a new slide manager set and start from a blank porfolio page to create a Stage gallery for this portfolio.
I named and tagged the images the same way I have done it in the past (in the Slide Manager) and placed the gallery options (500 px tall for both gallery and images with a 30 second delay, showing text and image, showing pause and directional tool). All of the settings are the same but even this new page won’t load.
Update:
If I change the gallery for the page then it loads fine. So it looks like the Slide Manager has an issue. I’ve double checked and each of the settings is identical to other settings previously used so I’ll have to fiddle with that.
since I wasn’t sure that the first link was what you were looking for
I asked what I did to try to troubleshoot whether the problem stemmed from the gallery or just creating a post/page.
I still see markup errors:
https://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.laurencrestillustration.com%2Fportfolio%2Fblank-test-2%2F&charset=%28detect+automatically%29&doctype=Inline&group=0&ss=1
Please create a new post/page with just text, no images at all. Do not copy and paste it, just type any random text and share the url here.
So, what have learned is that you can create posts, custom post type posts, and pages without issue.
What plugin are you using to create your galleries (too add the images) or are you just using the portfolio custom post type and the default media library?
I’m creating my portfolios by selecting the default Portfolio Page option on the Left hand menu (I think it came with the theme) and imputing a Slide Manager Set (also right off the main menu on the Left hand side of the screen). The Slide Manager Sets are created by uploading all the pictures to the Media Library section.
Turns out the some of the image sizes for other pages were too large and that caused the site to run out of memory trying to process the last page. I scaled down all of the images in WordPress and updated the pages. They now load. 🙂
