  • A small gap has appeared at the top of my wordpress theme on 3 (of 11) installs and I can’t figure out what’s wrong.

This is resulting in the homepage breaking in IE8/9 (FF, Chrome & Safari figure it out ad display properly, albeit with the gap).

    Example of working theme –
    Example of broken theme –

I’ve tried remaking the header from one of the working sites, but that didn’t help and I don’t think it’s related to the admin bar as even disabling it doesn’t do anything.

I have wp_head and wp_footer in as well.

Any ideas what I need to check?

I’m also having issues with IE9 not displaying images on, /de/, /es/ but I think that might be something to do with PIE?

  • Try running your code through the validator to check for errors:

Something’s funky with the broken theme (well, obviously :)) because it’s showing all the code that should be between the <head> tags within the <body> tags instead. The validator will point you to any mis-nested tags that might be causing problems.

    Hi sixhours,

What do you mean it’s showing things that should be in <head> in the <body>?

Most of the issues with the validator are unfixable due to the live chat code (though perhaps I can replace & with no ill effects) and those that I could fix I don’t think are causing the problem (you’ll get the same errors on those that render correctly). Looking at them they don’t look like they could be causing this problem.

When I view source on the busted theme, the code looks technically OK.

But Firebug in FF and Safari is showing differently–in both browsers it shows the contents of the head tag within the body tags instead. There’s nothing between <head> and </head>, then the title/meta/scripts/etc. are between the <body> tags.

Based on that, I would guess there’s some code in your header files messing things up. Looking at it line by line I don’t see anything that stands out.

Are you using the same plugins across all 11 sites? If not, have you tried deactivating plugins on all the broken websites to see if one of them is causing problems?

Today, auto insurance is divided into two parts, the first auto insurance hull insurance, the second – Car Insurance CTP.

CTP, or in common avtograzhdanki provides an opportunity for a little money to buy off a rather large problem.

If the driver has acquired CTP insurance is guilty of an accident, the victims and the victims receive compensation from the insurance company to provide insurance CTP culprit.
