Support » Plugin: Advanced Product Labels for WooCommerce » Slowing down site

  • I really enjoy this plugin, but unfortunately it took some time to find out that it was slowing down WooCommerce big time. Major improvement when disabled – please fix this issue quick !:)

    We will check it asap. What other plugins do you have installed? How many labels do you have?

    Hi Dima
    Thanks for a quick reply! – Only having to labels – one image and one text.
    No major plugins only a few including Query Monito – I’ve tried debugging, but the only thing that helps is to deactivate BeRocket.

    How many products/categories/attributes do you have? Are you applying some conditions to those labels? Did you try installing some cache plugin?

    Not many – about 5 or 6 in total
    It’s a small WC, but I do have a cache-plugin and it helps in some loadings, but Query Monitor still points out “APL” as a slow querie and as soon as I disable it, the site runs fast in all aspects.

    Could you add here query(s) marked by Query Monitor as slow?

    Of course 🙂
    Query:
    SELECT t.*, tt.*
    FROM clk_dd5f960833_wp_terms AS t
    INNER JOIN clk_dd5f960833_wp_term_taxonomy AS tt
    ON t.term_id = tt.term_id
    WHERE tt.taxonomy IN (‘berocket_taxonomy_data’)
    AND t.name IN (‘isdisabled’)
    AND tt.parent = ‘0’
    ORDER BY t.name ASC

    Caller
    WP_Term_Query->get_terms()
    wp-includes/class-wp-term-query.php:718

    WP_Term_Query->query()
    wp-includes/class-wp-term-query.php:288
    get_terms()
    wp-includes/taxonomy.php:1179
    wp_insert_term()
    wp-includes/taxonomy.php:2200
    BeRocket_custom_post_enable_disable_addon_class->add_disabled_term()
    wp-content/plugins/advanced-product-labels-for-woocommerce/berocket/includes/custom_post/enable_disable.php:27
    do_action(‘init’)
    wp-includes/plugin.php:478

    We are using there WordPress function wp_insert_term.

    wp_insert_term( 'isdisabled', 'berocket_taxonomy_data', array(
        'description' => '',
        'parent'      => 0,
        'slug'        => 'isdisabled',
    ) );

    The request itself is pretty easy. Especially when you have small store.

    I tested this query locally. Query took 0.0004 seconds.

    There is nothing for us to update here. This is WordPress function and it is working fast.

    You need to continue this discussion with your hosting provider.

    @mjmhats ,

    Did you try to contact hosting with this sql request?

    Hi Dima
    Thank you for your reply and great support.

    No I haven’t yet .. I’m sure they will reply “it’s a wordpress issue” since I don’t know where to begin or end my question 🙂

    There is pretty simple thing you can do now.
    Find some other hosting. Re-create there your site and just check the results on both sites. Compare queries speed with Query Monitor.

    There are a lot of things that could influence the query speed starting from the memory used for saving data(HDD, SSD, etc) till the MySQL version installed.

    Dima

    When you will have results with another hosting and if our plugin will be working ok there could you please update your feedback mark?

    Regards,
    Dima
