Slowed my website to an unnacceptable level

    After running this plugin for a few months, I found that spam had decreased to almost zero – which was great.

    However, the big problem was that it slowed down my site loading times very significantly. I don’t know if it is this plugin’s fault or a conflict with something else, but site speed became unacceptable.

    Having uninstalled the plugin, I’m back to getting dozens of bogus registrations every day (Akismet catches most of the spam comments), but I would rather than than a website which runs far too slowly.

    Hello,

    Did you try the last plugin version? 4.1 has some performance improvements on WordPress backend and frontend.

    If the 4.1. doesn’t help you please let me know more details about issue.

    1. Do you have slow pages on frontend or backend?
    2. Website runs slowly continuously or time to time?
    3. Can I have URL to any test page on your website?

    A year later, and the same problem has occurred several times after new updates to the plugin. I have just deactivated it again today, and the difference in my website is huge.

    This plugin was slowing my site down by 1.8 seconds, as measured by P3 plugin performance profiler.

    I have been very happy with the level of spam caught by this plugin, but the regular hits to site performance are getting too much to bear. It is noticeably affecting traffic to my site and advertising income as well, as the site slowed to such a degree.

    I hope the developers can improve this soon, and properly this time.

    Hello!
    Because P3 runs under admin, it tests admin functionality of CleanTalk, too (we’re using additional queries for statistics and some admin features). Other users don’t use this functionality, so, site will work more faster for them.
    If you’re using paid version of P3, you can exclude admin pages from checking, and see, that pages of your site loads more faster and uses less memory.
