• Resolved Judy Fishel

I installed Smush.it yesterday. It estimated 21 minutes to smush all my images. Way off. It is taking roughly 2-3 minutes per image so for 422 images that would be over two to three hours. It seems like much more. In Several hours last night I did 74 images. I hoped it would go faster early in AM but it goes the same speed again. Problem is that it does an average of 5 images and then quits… so I need to click again on bulk Smush.it every ten minutes of so. Is this because my website is running so slowly (the reason I’m smushing images in the first place) or some other problem? My site is http://www.breakthroughlearningcollege.com

  • Hello there @judy-fishel, I hope you’re well today!
Yahoo’s smush.it servise is not considered “fast”, but it shouldn’t be that slow either.
Why is your site as slow as you mention?
Is it your site or the server?
If I had to guess I would say that your site simply can’t connect to the smush.it servers, hence the delay and the constant failures.

I just downloaded it today and it’s very slow for me too, but, most aggravating of all, it keeps getting stuck! So, I start over and it goes further along, but, then gets stuck again! Is there any way to continue where you leave off, so it doesn’t go back to the very beginning? Thanks.

    Hello there Debbie,
I just wanted to let you know that currently there is complete rewrite of the plugin underway.
Hopefully a lot of issues will be resolved once this is released.
However, smush.it will always be slow. It’s just the way the API ofthat service works…
