Slow loading Sidebar (4 posts)

    Website is wartburgcircuit.org

Sidebar loads fine on the home page and any category page (News, Sports, etc.)

But on any post (ex: http://wartburgcircuit.org/knights-trade-punches-with-no-6-bethel-but-bow-out-of-ncaa-playoffs/)or page (ex: http://wartburgcircuit.org/kwar/) it (and other elements on the page such as photo slideshow, tweet button, etc.) are loading incredibly slow.

I haven't added anything to the sidebar since it started running this slow last week and it's the first time this has happened.

If anyone knows what the problem might be, I'd really appreciate some info on how I can fix it. Thank you!

I did notice that it took a while to load.

Run one of your pages through this service:

Then take a look at the waterfall image. It shows you how fast the resources are loading on your site. Look for any resources that are outliers.

You may want to temporarily remove them from your site to see if that helps.

Also check out GTMetrix. Its similar to webpagetest.

Thanks for your help. I tried a couple different pages using webpagetest.org and it seems a common outlier is http://wartburgcircuit.org/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php.
Any idea why that is and how to fix it?

That's what WordPress uses for ajax. Elements that use ajax are causing the page to load slowly.
