 * The Editor menu is a nightmare. Why it’s needed, I don’t know. Why not just allow
   us to put the site into an Editor mode, where we can select the header, menu,
   footer etc. directly? Seems slow to load, and it emphasises a major problem with
   Gutenberg/the block editor, in that it is impossible to be sure what you are
   editing. When editing, we really need to be able to see the edges of the blocks,
   or at least be able to toggle them on and off.
   Just trying to edit the footer
   is frustrating. Dealing with columns and nested blocks is impossible.

 * Hi [@jdriver](https://wordpress.org/support/users/jdriver/),
 * Thank you for the feedback for the Twenty Twenty-Three theme.

 * If I understood correctly, you are saying that you can’t edit everything in a
   single page, right?
 * I’m confirming as this should already be possible by clicking on the page after
   opening the editor.

 * Would you be open to share a screenshot or more details on that? I can see it
   working as expected, so not sure what exactly you’re pointing to here.

 * Thanks for responding. Ok, I’ve figured the first issue out, but it still feels
   really clunky. After clicking the header, footer etc. I have to move my mouse
   to the bottom of the page to click ‘Edit template’. It would be so much more
   user-friendly if it just displayed a message at the top of the screen, stating
   I was editing the header (or whatever) template. Also, clicking ‘Edit template’
   navigates away from the page I was originally editing.
   As for the issue regarding
   the outline of the blocks, yes I can see the block outline if I click on it,
   but there really needs to be an option to toggle the visibility of all block
   bounding boxes while editing. All design software I’ve used will do this, so
   it’s clear what the layout is.

 * Hi [@jdriver](https://wordpress.org/support/users/jdriver/),
 * Thank you for clarifying that!

 * Got it. If I understood correctly, basically show the template part that you’re
   editing, right?
 * Have you tried using the List View? I personally rely a lot on that to see more
   generally what I’m editing.

 * I believe the main reason would be for you to see on the editor as close as possible
   to how it shows on your site.
 * Personally, I feel like List View that I mentioned above could be helpful here
   as well.

 * You used the word ‘personally’ twice. That’s your preference. Being able to see
   the outlines, or at least toggle them, would help me. Especially when creating
   a new page.

 * Hi, [@jdriver](https://wordpress.org/support/users/jdriver/)!
 * Yes, totally. As these _personally_ work for me, I wanted to check with you if
   these would work for you as well. 🙂
 * In case you have already tried the List View, and this still gives the same experience,
   I would really recommend you create a feature request here: [https://github.com/WordPress/gutenberg/issues](https://github.com/WordPress/gutenberg/issues)
