I know this is asking for a lot, but does anyone using Slimstat happen to have a fix for making Slimstat and WP Cerber work together? WP Cerber is a firewall and WP hardening plugin. I have also asked this question on the WB Cerber site.

When I disable WP Cerber Slimstat works. I have tried adding Slimstat to the REST APi whitelist, enabled AJAX within WP Cerber, etc; so far nothing will get the two plugins to work at the same time. I also tried the Relative AJAX setting withn Slimstat but it did not improve anything.

I am just not sure what Slimstat is doing or what access it needs that I can configure within WP Cerber to make them work together. The plugins are both the latest versions and the WP theme is Avada.

    Hi @vumediagroup,

could you look at the network activity in the developer tools to see what’s happening? Slimstat’s tracker sends data back to the server after the page loads, to record that specific pageview. It sounds like WP Cerber is intercepting that request as suspicious, thus preventing Slimstat from doing its job. I am afraid there’s not much I can do on my end to solve this issue, if it’s WP Cerber causing it. But I’m more than happy to work with the other plugin’s devs to give them as much info as possible to figure things out. Keep me posted.

Jason, thank you for the response, the WP Cerber team replied as well and told me to look in the activity log. In the log it states:

Spam form submission denied Bot detected
    /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php

So it seems to me that WP Cerber is blocking Slimstat from accessing Ajax. Within WP Cerber I added Slimstat to its Ajax whitelist and enabled Ajax access but it still doesn’t work. I am hoping the WP Cerber developers come up with a solution. It is definitely not Slimstat’s fault but at the moment I am stuck with WP Cerber blocking the statistics from working.

Is there another way for Slimstat to record the statistics without Ajax maybe via JS or the REST API? Thanks again for your help I know its not your plugin that has the issue.

    Hi @vumediagroup,

I’m thinking about adding support for the REST API, but that’s still a few months away from being implemented. Please keep me posted.

    Best,
    Jason
