# Slimstat slows down website loading

 * Hi guys!
 * Thank you for the great plugin. My website was slow on loading, around 5.5s. 
   On checking through Google inspect, I found out it was the Slimstats plugin that
   was causing it. As soon as I disabled it, the load time reduced from 5.5s to 
   2.8s (GTMetrix). Not sure this is because of my plugin setup inside WordPress.
   This is just a friendly heads up, so you can take a look and if the case solve
   the issue on your side.

 * Pls temporarily install and enable the Query Monitor plugin and check what up.
   
   It gives you good hints whats the culprit.
 * My sites all run blazingly fast with Slimstat enabled using this settings:
 * Track Backend: disabled
    Tracking Mode: Client Private Mode: On Set Cookie: On
 * I found a problem with the Browscap version check, which has a bug which causes
   the plugin to check for a new version with every request (to github.com). For
   this, there is a pending PR which fixes it.
 * Check the Query Monitor results for “HTTP Api Calls”. If there is one caused 
   by the plugin to github.com, you are hit by the problem as well.

 * Hi [@toxicum](https://wordpress.org/support/users/toxicum/) thank you very much
   for posting your Slimstat setup. As nobody from Slimstat replied to this support
   ticket, I decided to uninstall Slimstat and am now using Intelligence + Rank 
   Math. I installed them and after the usual setup with Google Analytics, my website
   is loading in 2,5s no need to configure anything more. Thank you anyway 🙂
