    Hello,

I love your plugin I do however have an issue with optimisation. I use siteorigin Vantage theme and W3 Total to speed my website up. However when I have minify enabled on W3Total the testimonial slide show does not display correctly see http://www.standard.chaselife.tech. Also when running a test on pingdom tools without minify enabled the requests are 135, but with minify enabled its only 66 hence the faster speed with minify enabled. Can you identify the best settings in w3total for your plugin please.

    Kind regards

    David

    Hi David,

Thanks for the link and for not assuming my plugin was broken. 🙂

Here’s a screencast of my first visit to that page. The slideshow seems to be working.

Side note: One unintended but acceptable behavior of the new slider in version 2.15 is that the slideshow will stop when the browser loses focus.

Have you cleared your browser cache since updating the plugin?

    Hi Chris,

Thank you for your speedy reply, I never just assume it is your plugin, I know minifying can cause issues.

Sorry I had disabled the minify of javascript through w3total which made it viewable correctly, you probably saw it in that state.

I have just enabled javascript minify again and if you revisit my site you will find that it is not formatting correctly, problem is something to do with minify of javascript.

    Any Ideas?

    David

Ps super impressed by your speedy response 🙂

Oh a weird thing is if I just resize the browser window it sorts out the formatting.

    Thanks, David.

The new slider reformats on resize, another welcome improvement.

I refreshed the page and it’s still working for me.

Yes it appears to be working thank you, not sure what went on there. Can you please take a look at this site please http://www.hellofromheaven.co.uk/ Does the testimonial which uses images work for you?

    Kind regards

Is that on the latest version? 2.16.3 initializes the slider after all images have been loaded in order to handle this very issue.

If up to date, then you may need to clear the W3TC cache.

    Hi Chris,

Yes it is the latest version, it only does this when I set it to minify on w3total. It didnt used to do this quite a few versions ago. Im thinking I need to disable the minify for the strong testimonial javascript file?

    Kind regards

It sorts itself out when I resize the window.

    Hi Chris,

As my website is a live site I have disabled the minify javascript option in W3Total for now and it works fine. I would however like a resolution or simply the names of the javascript files to block from minification in w3total.

    Kind regards

The issue is out-of-date cache, not minification. When I viewed the site before you disabled minification, the slider handler is out of date, as evidenced by this screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/dKqdj8R3Dzz

If you are using the CDN option, perhaps it is merely an issue of waiting for the CDN to refresh.

I would prefer to avoid requiring special handling so one can simply clear the cache and everything works. Javascript files and directory structures are always subject to change.

But, as requested, here is the file to exclude:
    wp-content/plugins/strong-testimonials/public/js/slider.js

I do plan to include minified versions soon; I need to improve my local workflow first. The slider handler is very small so loading the unminified version should not affect performance.

Thank you for your support, Im a bit confused as to why the it is not the latest version as it tells me it is in the plugins dashboard. I have cleared all the cache in w3total which is correct to my knowledge. I am new to using W3Total and there are alot of options. Im not actually using CDN, I wonder if there is another setting I need to change. I dont really want to block that one file, but I have now done that at it all works fine.

Thank you so much for your support. As a test I installed it on another website with w3total installed and it worked ok. I have moved it from another domain in the last 2 weeks although Im not sure how that would have affected it. Anyway thank you for your help and for creating such a fab plugin.

    Kind regards

No problem. I’m glad it’s working well for you. If you gain any insight into W3TC configuration, please share.

    Cheers,
