Slideshow loading slow or times out

This is regarding the WP Photo Album Plus plugin (why did this post not “stick” in that forum?) …

I seem to have configured a performance problem. Try slideshow on one of the albums at http://nortonrally.com/inoa-rally-2013/rally-memories

Load times are a minute or more per 100 photos, and larger albums time out on the server before completing loading (2-3 minutes).

Any ideas?
