Hi janburg your settings look okay to me. However as you mentioned above setting your image height to 500px is what’s causing your wide white space. Reduce the height and it should work fine.

So there’s no way of having the slideshow 500px high on a regular screen, which looks great, then shrinking it for mobile use without the extra space?

Hi you can have it set up as 500px but something in your settings is causing the white space.

If you are using a responsive theme, check the settings in your theme. If you are using a responsive plugin then check the settings in your plugin.

    Regards

I am having the same problem. Could you please be a little more specific with your answer here? I am using a responsive theme — what settings will allow your plugin to automatically re-size depending on browser size?

I got it to work by setting shrink slideshow’s height when width shrinks to yes, and enabling responsiveness (yes).
The max width is set to 900px and proportional relationship at 2:1 also worked for me. 3:1 made the computer image too small, but it was fine on mobile.
    Hope this helps.
