    http://www.andersnoren.se/teman/hitchcock-wordpress-theme/

On the linked page above the theme says that it has:

    “Gallery Support
Hitchcock supports the gallery post format, which enables you to present your images in a beautiful 1040 pixel wide slideshow on top of the posts.”

I somehow accidentally got this to work, once. I have no idea how I did it. The post had a really nice slideshow of images in the location of where the featured image is display on the actual post page.

I have tried creating a new gallery page but cannot recreate this.

Can anyone explain the steps of how the slideshow function is created please?

The same thing has just happened to me.

The slideshow on top of posts seems to work only the first time. Besides, it’s not editable. After creating my first slideshow, I thought I’d rather remove and image from it… and found no way of doing that.

I decided to restart fresh, trashed the problematic post and created another, but I haven’t been able to create a new slideshow since. =(

OK, I really don’t know how, but I’ve managed to create slideshows on top of new posts. So the slideshow isn’t necessarily a one-time thing.

I’ve got optimal results by following these steps:

    1. Create a new post
    2. Select the Gallery post format for it
    3. Upload some images for the slideshow
    4. Once they’ve loaded, close the window using the X at the right top corner. Don’t “insert into post” or you’ll end up with a slideshow at the top of the post and also a bunch of photos inside the post’s body!

    And that’s it.
However, editing the slideshows still seems impossible. x_X

    SomniumLucidus,

Thank you for your post, I found steps 1-4 helpful.

The gallery seems to be limited to 12 images. Is there a way to increase this?

Also, editing the post doesn’t seem to be a problem, but if you edit the media included in the gallery all hell breaks loose as you said.

    No idea, sorry. =(
So far I’ve only made slideshows with a maximum of 5 photos.

ahh, i realized I didn’t see that the other pictures weren’t finished loading.

I’ve managed to get the slideshow (above the post) working by activating Galleries / Carrousel / custom CSS in the Jetpack plugin.

Hope this works for you as well?

Adding photos will delete the slidehow and I’m not able to get it working again..
