[Resolved] Slideshow covering drop down menus

  • I am having a problem with drop down menus being hidden by the slideshow. The site is here:

Hover over ADVENTURE to see the drop down.

I checked through the CSS in your plug in and found your highest z-index to be 10001 so I have updated my menu z-index to be 20000. The menu works on the other pages on the site, just not the home page where it disappears under the slider.

I put in a spacer div just above the slider to show that it is only the slider that is above the menu.

Just to add to the frustration, it works correctly in IE9 but not FireFox 19.0.2 or Opera 12.14 or Chrome 25.0.1364.172 m.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi Andrew,

It’s not just the slideshow that overlaps your dropdown boxes, any element overlaps them. This is very clear on the Gallery page, but also on the Team Rhino page. If you look closely, you’ll see that even the text on that page overlaps the ‘Adventure -> Media Center’ menu item.

The slideshows highest z-index is 2, the z-index you mention seems to be coming from the Ajax Event Calender. The calender plugin uses z-indexes of around 10000.

I have tried to see what could be causing the wrong overlap, but I wasn’t able to figure it out either.

    Best regards,
    Stefan

I solved the problem by setting a z-index on the header. It seems that just having the z-index of the menus higher than the page content was not sufficient.

BTW, I see a z-index of 10000 and 10001 in /slideshow-jquery-image-gallery/style/SlideshowPluginSlideInserter/slide-inserter.css. I didn’t parse your code far enough to see what elements that was styling. I just shot for something higher.

Thanks for having a look at the issue. It is working now.

That’s great to hear! The z-index of 10000 and 10001 style the image inserter pop-up, it doesn’t influence the slideshow on your page.
