    The default view when adding a Jetpack Slideshow for images in the post will show the caption overlayed over the image hiding a part of the image. Is there any way to show the caption after the image and not overlay it. I am sure this may have been requested before not sure what the solution is as i have been searching on the internet for past 1 hour before logging a ticket here.

    Also, Is the Jetpack Slideshow customization in general like border settings the Previous and Next Buttons customizations etc.

    Hi @makhijajatin, our slideshow doesn’t have a lot of customization features built in, but you can use CSS to customize some things on your own. And, while it’s outside the scope of what we can provide as support here, perhaps a tutorial like this would help you: https://wpsmackdown.com/customize-jetpack-slideshow-image-gallery/

    Hoping that helps!

    I have managed somehow from custom Css but the problem is the caption is not showing complete and cutting off.

    I’m not seeing the problem as described.

    First, please make sure that your browser is up to date: https://browsehappy.com/

    If it is not, please try updating your browser or switching to a different browser.

    If it is, please do these two things:

    1. Try clearing your browser’s cache and cookies.

    2. Try with all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily disabled.

    Please let us know how each step goes for you, and which browser (and version of) you’re using if you’re still having trouble.

    Hey James,
    Appreciate that you looked at the link from your side and suggested these options. I have verified that Google Chrome and Firefox both the browsers are up to date. I have tested from my personal laptop and my office machine and found the same results. Browser Cache (all time) is cleared and No cache plugin on my site.

    Not sure which browser you tested with and also i have been working on this issue from past few weeks like now and being helpless trying to find another image slider plugin with can fulfill my requirements which are not too much to ask for. I want My Image display and under that Caption Displayed in Full and If pagination dots are not very important but nice to have thing. I am already using jetpack for other things and its the trusted long term plugin so thats why i am trying to see if my issues can be fixed rather than using another plugin for this.

    Here are the test results:

    1) Google Chrome Mobile Phone View:
    Image cut off, Captions are not completely visible and pagination dots are over the caption.

    2) Google Chrome Desktop View (cleared all time browse cache), No Cache Plugin used on site:
    Caption Cutting off and Pagination dots are over the text.

    3) Firefox: I found that when i looked at the desktop site view looked better than google chrome and cannot say 100% not firefox desktop is fine. Can confirm after few more tests but this example looks ok for now.

    4) Firefox Mobile View: Does not show the Image when the caption is long or cuts the image too much and the image is barely visible.

    Not sure if these problems can be fixed. Jetpack does not provide SlideShow Configuration options. Not sure why to include these features when there is not enough customization for the different use cases.

    Anyway if you cant find the solution, still no problem. I have almost lost hope here as well. But Thanks for looking. If you can suggest a good plugin which can do that i will be greatful to you.

    Thank you for the screenshots, that’s very helpful.

    I can also confirm that everything looks fine on Firefox from desktop view: https://d.pr/i/TX2GTi. So the issue seems to be limited to the mobile view. Do I understand correctly that you moved the caption below the image using custom CSS?
    If so, you may want to finesse the code a bit, maybe adding media queries for the mobile view.

    Hi Fresatomica,

    The issue is with Google Chrome Desktop and on all mobiles. i am using below custom CSS. But i found it somewhere as i am not expert in this language. Can you modify for media queries and send me the code.

    .entry-content .wp-block-jetpack-slideshow .wp-block-jetpack-slideshow_image {
       margin-top: auto;
        margin-bottom: auto;
     }

    .entry-content .wp-block-jetpack-slideshow .wp-block-jetpack-slideshow_slide figure {
        flex-direction: column;
    }

    .entry-content .wp-block-jetpack-slideshow .wp-block-jetpack-slideshow_caption.gallery-caption {
        position: relative;
        bottom: auto;
        width: 100%;
        max-height: 100%;
        overflow: visible;
        padding: 10px 0 20px 0;
        color: #333;
        text-align: center;
        font-size: 19px;
      background: linear-gradient(0deg,rgba(0,0,0,0),rgba(0,0,0,0) 0%,transparent);
    }

    Does it continue under a different theme, like Twenty Twenty?
