  • same here. There is a message in the admin area: The plugin smart-slider-3/smart-slider-3.php has been deactivated due to an error: Plugin file does not exist. Have no idea what happened to that plugin file and why the plugin is no longer listed in the plugin area of the admin.

    Hi @stbn93,
could you check if your theme properly contains the wp_head(); and wp_footer(); in the right place?

wp_head(); should be in the header.php in most themes.
wp_footer(); should be in the footer.php before the </body>

Also for pages, the page.php should contain get_header(); and get_footer(); at the start and at the end.

I know it is not easy to check, so if you are not familiar with PHP or stuck, please send us a support ticket and we will help you in private. You can reach us: support@nextendweb.com

    Hi @big-dave,
I think your issue is not related to the topic’s original issue. If that file is really missing, you should delete the plugin and reinstall it from the wordpress.org directory and then activate it. You sliders will stay in place even when you delete the plugin so don’t worry that you lose your slider.

It would be great to know how you end up in this situation. Do you remember anything you do on your site and might be related? For example, updated Smart Slider 3, updated any other plugin/theme/WordPress itself, have an infection on your site etc…
