Support » Plugin: WOW Slider » Slider uploading with basic transition and no effects

  • Resolved rachel19784

My problem is a strange one the wow slider app works allowing me to set up correctly. Once I have generated the Zip file and upload to WP the slider shows totally incorrect.
If you look at my site, You will see I get basic transition and no captions or animation, also you can’t change to the next slide, when I click to do this it jumps to top of the page.

Hopefully this makes sense, I love this plugin and it looks so fast but I need to get captions and effects working correctly.

Please can you try to help with this problem, I am not so savvy when it comes to tech side, so step by step guides would be useful.

    Many Thanks Rachel x

I have just checked your page:

You slider works in pure CSS mode, because other plugin that you use totally destroys WOWSlider structure. For example, the following line:
    <script type='text/javascript' src=''></script>

should be after the list of images in HTML code. But it’s before the list of images in your case, also code and name of file generated with WOWSlider were modified.

I suppose this plugin should compress CSS and javascript code, but the result is awful. Please try to disable it. It seems that word “minify” should be in the name of this plugin.

I disabled the minify plugin and it works. Thank you for your help

Ive got the same problem on my website, I deactivated all plugins an script’s (for example piwik analytic), but it still don’t want to work. Do I have to put any jquery code in the <head> part?

    my website:

    Thanks for helping 🙂

I have just checked your page:

It’s a problem with jquery. WOWSlider uses a standard jquery library from WordPress, so the following line appears in the code of the page:
    <script type='text/javascript' src=''></script>
But there is no this line in the code of your page.

    Possible reasons:
    1) Your theme forms HEAD section incorrectly and doesn’t add jquery library or your theme doesn’t use jquery at all. You can try to use one of the standard themes to check it.
    2) Fancybox plugin. Possibly, it uses old version of jquery. Please try to disable Fancybox plugin.

Thanks for the fast support, it’s working now. I didn’t had the jquery script in the head part.

    btw: it’s a awesome plugin 🙂
