Support » Themes and Templates » Slider trouble

  • I’m brand new to WordPress websites, switching over from my very static (but user friendly) iWeb site. I chose the Nicolas theme because I liked the slider integrated into the front page. However, I cannot figure out how to place my images in the slider. When I click “add new slider,” it asks for a “name” and a “value.” I don’t understand what “value” means, or why there isn’t a image uploading option to place pictures into the slider. Any insight/guidance on how I can get my pictures rotating in this slider would be greatly appreciated.

  • Isn’t the Nicolas theme a commercial WordPress theme? Commercial themes are best to ask the questions to the place of purchase of the theme – their customer service because they are more apt to respond due to them providing support for their purchases.

Since it’s not a free theme readily available to end users, support on the wordpress.org site is truely limited.

Hi Frumph! It is a commercial theme, which is why I’ve been beating my head against the wall to get it working! I don’t want to toss it aside after I dished out some cash for it. Thanks for clarifying that there’s a difference between paid and free WordPress sites. I just assumed that since they were all WordPress sites, someone may be able to give some guidance. I’m going to go contact customer service now!

    Thank you!
