Support » Plugin: Multi Slider » slider problem after renaming slug of slider

  • hello,

I use Multi slider for displaying quotes/texts without pictures with great pleasure, but now I’ve a big problem.
I renamed the slug of a slider because i didn’t like the long name i gave it. The slider contains about 30 slides = quotes.

After clicking on ‘save slider’ the sliderscreen frooze in the dashboard. When i refresh my window and go back to the Manage sliderlist, the slidername is still there, but the content is empty. What to do? I’m afraid my 30 slides will disappear when I try changing anything.

hope you can help me so i don’t have to type all those texts again..

I have a notion what might have happened. In the meantime, can you try changing the slider back to its old name and see if the slides show up again?

I will try Chris, thankx for your quick answer, I’m not going to be happy if I have to do all my work from scratch…..have to upload the website in a few hours…..

    best regards,

I forgot to mention that the slides are still available in Dashboard under de slidername ‘s’ . Now I’ll follow your advice and let you know..

    there back!! thank you Chris!!

before I put back the old name I copied all my slide texts with markups just in case…

so better not rename the slugs?

Where can i find the texts in de database? Maybe easier to copy?

The slides make use of the custom post type feature in WordPress, so they are stored as posts using the slug for the post type. I still need to check, but most likely I forgot to rename the slug on the posts when the slug gets changed on the slider. I’ll get that fixed in an upcoming version.
