• Hi Folks,

    Website: http://www.buildexconstruction.com

I recently experimented with adding a widget area under my logo as found in the write-up here: http://www.themesandco.com/snippet/add-widget-area-header/

After this update I decided against using the new widget area because the content would load inside the slider instead of above it. So I removed the widget area altogether except that after this my slider stopped working.

I proceeded to erase all the code I had added into the functions.php file and was able to get the slider to work in Chrome, which I am using now, but the slider is stuck in IE and Firefox and won’t budge.

How can I get it to slide again in the other browsers??

  • Basic, but did you refresh your browser Ctrl(Cmd)/F5?

    Thank you for responding.

Yes, I’ve refreshed as well cleared the cache and cookies from both IE and firefox to no avail.

    Any other thoughts?

Could you deactivate your child theme and see if it works with just the Customizr parent?

To be honest, I haven’t set up a child theme yet, everything is still operating from the parent theme.

You seem to have a lot of CSS, is it stored in your CustomCSS panel? If so, suggest you take a copy of it then clear it out. It should only contain specific code to restyle default CSS. You seem to have a lot of Default CSS copied across.

You also say that you modified the theme’s core files, which is likely to be causing problems too. I would reinstall the theme too (activate twentytwelve or twentyfourteen; delete Customizr; re-download Customizr; reactivate Customizr).

Alrighty folks, it’s been a while but I was able to do some work on the site in an attempt to fix this persisting slider dysfunction.

To date I’ve created a child theme which holds my custom CSS & functions. I’ve also deleted my parent theme and re-installed it. It has not fixed my issue.

A few other things which I’ve noticed is that when I click on the green arrow to switch the slide my url has “#customizr-slider” attached to the end of it as if the link is broken on the arrows or isn’t leading to the next picture.

To make it weirder, when I am logged into my wordpress account and I click on my site to view it (the wordpress black header still on top of my page) the slider works perfectly. The slider also works if I view my page through the custoimize it screen. However it will not work as a stand alone slider when I’m not logged in or across other browsers.

Does any of this ring any bells???

You have problems also with other things. E.g. the menu button in mobile. The ‘back to top’ link that doesn’t scroll the page smoothly. Problems with javascripts, don’t know why, probably you have to try to disable all your plugins, and reactivate one at a time to find out which is causing the conflict.

Ok it seem’s when I disabled the wp-cache plugin that was suggested by customizr everything came back to normal!!

What about it may have caused the issue?
