[Resolved] Slider for Category archive pages.

  • Hi Matthew,

I’m quite new to wp (and PHP as well) and I’ve found so strange that category archives have no featured image. When I go to a archive, I just get a huge empty square with a thin gray border: no slide nor even a simple image. It’s awful!
    I’m using a twenty-eleven child theme.

Have you any idea how to fix this?

    Many many thanks in advance!

    Antonio

Hi @anthyx, I guess that’s just the way categories are coded with WordPress – they’re a taxonomy (categories, tags) rather than a post type (posts, pages).

Easing Slider isn’t related to featured images or category archives at all – they’re completely independent.

With Easing Slider “Lite”, you’re limited to just one slideshow anyway, so having various slideshows for the various category pages would require the “Pro” version. Still, you’d need to implement your own custom code to manage the slideshows per category archive. It’d be tricky, as it’s not like a post/page where we can code some custom functionality to add an extra metabox :/
