Support » Plugin: Jetpack by WordPress.com » slider disappeared because of jetpack image lazy load

This is just to let you know that the slider on my homepage had disapeared and I could not understand why.
I found out because, as I tried to recreate the page, I realized that the slider appeared as long as the page was not published.
That’s how I realized the difference between the published and the draft page was the “jetpack-lazy-images-js-enabled” class applied to the page
So as soon as I disabled it, the slider came back….
    Brrr….

Lazy Load is not 100% compatible with all themes yet, especially when sliders are involved. We are working on it, but in this case I recommend leaving it off.

    Thanks for the details!

    You’re welcome.
But, to my opinion, this should be mentioned on the plugin page, the fact that it might not be compatible with all sliders, people would check before using it.

nb: slider is WP 1 Sliders

    Hi there,

I will look into seeing if we can add something to the plugin page regarding compatibility issues.

    Thanks again!

At the moment, we are compatible with some sliders, not all.

The issue is a conflict between how some sliders load their images and how Lazy Load does.

We’re still working on narrowing down a more compatible approach, but for right now the best test is exactly what you did: try it, and switch it off if it doesn’t work. 🙂
