 * Is it possible to slow the speed of the slider?
 * Yes, I see the “slider speed” control but that just adjusts the timing until 
   the next one comes on the screen.
 * I want to add a few seconds to each slider because I have a bit of copy on each
   to read.
 * Is this even possible?

 * The setting in the theme option panel is the transition time.. not the stopping
   time for the slider.. you can not do what you said with this slider

 * With FTP or alternative- edit this file:
    **wp-content/themes/accesspress-lite/
   js/jquery.bxslider.min.js**
 * Search for **pause:4e3**
 * Change the 4 to a higher number for a longer stop
